Satin silk fabric is available in three varieties – taffeta satin silk, satin dupion silk and kora satin silk. The availability of three varieties are due to different types of yarn used in weft direction i.e. dupion silk or mulberry silk.

Satin silk fabrics are used in garments and garment accessories. Satin silk fabric is mainly for scarves and shawls, but the heavier weight satin silk fabric can also be used for home furnishing products making - Strips, checks, jacquard, print embroidery, crossing yarn colors (double shads) and hand painting can be done on Satin Silk to increase its aesthetic value. Kora Satin Silk is distinct due to the use of kora yarn (non de-gummed yarn) used in the warp.
